Situated in the heart of award winning Ballandean Estate Winery, The Barrelroom and Larder is a casual fine dining restaurant offering an eclectic modern Australian menu. Using local produce sourced within a strict three hour radius of the restaurant, we support free range and sustainable farming practices, as well as organic where possible.
The team is lead by chefs and owners Travis Crane & Arabella Chambers who have 18 years combined restaurant experience in Brisbane and abroad. Arabella began her hospitality career out the front, working as both waitress and barista before making the transition into the kitchen of Brisbane's three hatted Urbane as an apprentice. Travis started his apprenticeship at The Chifley Hotel in Brisbane, before moving into the fine dining scene at the hatted Brent's Restaurant in Toowong. After finishing his apprenticeship under Brent and doing a stint as his sous chef, Travis moved on to work at Boucher French Bistro in Graceville. After three years as head chef in the Boucher kitchen, Travis ventured overseas to Belgium where he staged at the michelin starred In De Wulf, also spending time working on their farm, Le Monde des Mille Couleurs. Here he learned a true appreciation for local, sustainable and organic produce and gained invaluable insight into the workings of a worldclass restaurant and the amazing organic farm that supplied it.
The Barrelroom is open for lunch and dinner Thursday to Monday, by appointment for morning and afternoon tea, and our Larder room is available for birthday parties, business meetings and weddings.
